The owner of the firm, Prof. Dr. Balázs Gellér, head attorney, draws not only on decades of Hungarian and international practical and academic experience but also on a family tradition of legal practice dating back to the 19th century. He earned his doctorate in law (summa cum laude) at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE).

Following this, he pursued an LL.M. degree at the University of Cambridge, where he later obtained his Ph.D. He also completed postdoctoral training in international humanitarian law at the ICRC and New York University for university lecturers.

He is a habilitated full professor at ELTE, where he has served as head of the Department of Criminal Law from 2008 to 2011 and again since 2014. In addition to ELTE, he taught at Széchenyi István University in Győr, where he led the Department of Criminal Sciences for five years. In recognition of his contributions to the university, he was awarded the prestigious Pro Facultate Award in 2020. At ELTE he was awarded the Pro Facultate Gold Merit in 2023.

Since 2010, he has been a board member of the National Scientific Research Fund (OTKA), contributing to the evaluation of applications in law, political sciences, and related fields. He is the author of over 100 scholarly articles, books, and two monographs in Hungarian and foreign languages. Additionally, he has edited two volumes and co-authored several textbooks and commentaries. He also played an advisory role in drafting Hungary's new Criminal Code.

In parallel with his legal and academic career, he has held various public roles in recent years. He served on the board of the Nationally Significant Social Science Research Foundation and chaired the codification committee for the international criminal code at the Ministry of Justice. He was also a member of the committee responsible for drafting legislation on the recognition of foreign certificates and diplomas.

Prof. Dr. Gellér played a key role as the lead expert in establishing the Legal Studies Institute of the Andrássy Gyula German-Language University in Budapest. He has worked as a public law advisor and held several positions at the Ministry of Education, including Chief of Staff, Senior Ministerial Advisor, and Ministerial Commissioner. Additionally, he advised the Deputy Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights on international law and human rights issues and served as legal counsel for the European Commission of Human Rights of the Council of Europe in 1995.

He has been visiting professor at different European universities. 

In his legal practice, he specializes in international law, criminal law, civil law, and administrative law.
